Venturi Scrubber, Type W20

The Emtrol Venturi Scrubber is designed to efficiently remove sub-micron dust particles from the gas stream.  The gas inlet will handle gases to 1000°F. without a pre-cooling section.  Scrubbing liquid is introduced through open pipes, onto the venturi shelf which ensures uniform liquid distribution eliminating wet/dry line build-up in the cone section.

As a means of pressure drop control the venturi scrubber is equipped with an adjustable throat.  Here, the dust-laden gas and scrubbing liquid collide, dispersing the liquid into droplets that the particles impact and become entrapped within.  The flooded elbow serves as an abrasion barrier prior to the separator tank.  Removal of the droplets from the gas stream is accomplished in the cyclonic separator which can be supplied with an optional integral recycle reservoir.  Completing the design, the outlet can be supplied either vertically or in a horizontal scroll arrangement.

Our Venturi Scrubbers can be supplied as a complete, skid-mounted and factory-tested system, if required.  Here are just a few of the capabilities and benefits of our Type W20 scrubbers:
