PROBLEM
Post Point WWTP needed to
dispose of sewage sludge in a cost effective and environmentally sound
manner. With the
installation of two (2) fluid bed incinerators, the plant required air
pollution control equipment to clean the incinerator off-gases.
solution
Emtrol engineered and supplied two (2)
Venturi/Impingement
Tray Scrubbers to remove particulate from the incinerator off-gases. The system included a
specially designed quench to saturate 1400°F. inlet gases, a double blade ceramic tile
lined variable throat venturi scrubber for precise control and operation at 25"
w.c.
pressure drop, and an impingement tray tower to efficiently cool exit gases to reduce
steam plume. Each Emtrol scrubber was followed by a modern Wet Electrostatic Precipitator. |
